Connecting callers to health and human services
2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember telephone number (like 4-1-1 or 9-1-1) that connects Maine callers to information about health and human services available in their communities. 2-1-1 Maine is part of a national movement being delivered by participating United Ways and states. 2-1-1 service is completely confidential and free from anywhere in Maine.
2-1-1 is a powerful example of how government, nonprofit and private sectors can work together to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Maine. It is because of this effective collaboration that Maine was the 15th state to have 2-1-1 services available statewide.
For more information about 2-1-1 or to use the 2-1-1 directory of over 8,000 resources, visit the 2-1-1 website at 211maine.org
