Through a corporate gift and substantial staff donations, a group of six local Hannaford stores collectively donated $35,403 to United Way of Kennebec Valley (UWKV), making Hannaford one of United Way’s 12 Cornerstone Partners.

Cornerstone businesses and agencies collectively make up more than 53 percent of UWKV’s annual campaign, which totaled $1.67 million in 2017. Hannaford stores that annually contribute to the Kennebec Valley campaign are located in Augusta, China, Gardiner and Winthrop.

Hannaford Supermarkets, based in Scarborough, operates 181 stores in the Northeast.
