UNITED WAY OF KENNEBEC VALLEY'S 51ST ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE RAISES $18,512

AUGUSTA—United Way of Kennebec Valley raised $18,512 to support community programming at its 51st Annual Golf Scramble. Twenty-five teams competed and 27 businesses sponsored the tournament, held August 9 at the Augusta Country Club.
Proceeds from the event will support United Way's annual fundraising campaign, which aims will fund 45 programs in the Kennebec Valley region.
2021 United Way Golf Scramble winners:
1st Gross - Dan Freeman, Jeremy Payne, Ryan Meserve, and Mark Bailey, representing Readfield Insurance
2nd Gross - Peter Lynch, Adam Lynch, Dan Dalfonso, and Dan Benson, representing Goose River Holdings
1st Net - Nicole McSweeney, Dirk Kershner, Dan Soucier, and Rick Boudreau, representing MaineGeneral
2nd Net - Bill Dow, Mike Taylor, Dave Pelton, and Monica Grady, representing KV Community Action Program (KVCAP)
Course challenge winners:
Closest to the pin contest, sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank - Bill Dow, representing KVCAP
Straightest drive contest, sponsored by Central Maine Power - Stacey Morrison, representing Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce
Air cannon closest to the pin contest, sponsored by Cross Insurance - Dan Dalfonso, representing Goose River Holdings
Putting contest, sponsored by Skowhegan Saving Bank - Bill Whitmore, representing Harvard Pilgrim
Central Maine Power served as the event's exclusive cart and straightest drive sponsor, and Charlie's Family of Dealerships sponsored a hole-in-one challenge. Golfers were treated to lunch, courtesy of Charlie's Family of Dealerships and J.S. McCarthy Printers. The event banquet was generously sponsored by NRF Distributors. An auction with sponsor-donated prizes raised $1,995.
