Emerging Leaders Society

Become a leader. Join the next generation of do-gooders. It all starts with a donation and a desire to make a difference.

Emerging Leaders Society is for anyone interested in growing their philanthropic involvement in Kennebec County. ELS members receive special opportunities to experience the impact of their generosity firsthand, work closely with United Way as we improve the lives of local people, and develop a deeper connection to Kennebec County, its needs, and its heroes.

Members of ELS are the philanthropic leaders of tomorrow — and there are multiple options to get involved. ELS Membership Levels are structured to grow your giving at your pace, preparing you to develop into a UWKV Leadership Donor.

ELS wants to recognize people for all of their charitable efforts. Maybe you serve on a nonprofit board, help out at your church, or just love to pitch in when you can at a community event. However you choose to give back to the Kennebec Valley, we thank you. To truly LIVE UNITED, we need so much more than dollars and cents, so dig in and show this community how Emerging Leaders can make an impact — not just today but for generations to come.

ELS members are required to volunteer in some way, but the number of volunteer hours per membership level is a suggested number of hours. By nature, ELS members are strongly interested in community engagement and their own philanthropic development. UWKV will provide some opportunities to serve at UWKV partner programs, but how ELS members fulfill their volunteer hours is up to them. You don’t need to provide a report of your volunteer time to UWKV. ELS membership is open to anyone who wishes to improve the quality of life in Kennebec County, nurture leadership and philanthropy skills, and give back to the community. You can join at the various membership levels listed below by donating both time and money. Our gradual step-up plan helps you prepare to continuously increase your thoughtfulness over time.
