UWKV CAMPAIGN KICKoff and hopeful sign lighting event
September 20, 2022 | 5:30pm | Downtown Augusta, ME
RSVP
United Way of Kennebec Valley leads the community in fundraising for 49 nonprofit partner programs every year though workplace campaigns, individual giving, and corporate support.
Hopeful signs have been popping up across the state of Maine, and Augusta is the newest recipient of a 25ft Hopeful Sign—designed by artist, Charlie Hewitt. Thanks to the support of our sponsors—The Boulos Company, Central Maine Power and Kennebec Savings Bank—people who live, work and play in Augusta can enjoy this sign for many years to come.
This event will combine the annual Campaign Kickoff with the Hopeful Sign Lighting. Together, we are Hopeful—United for a Stronger Community!
Food will be available for purchase from: Backyard Dogs Catering and Lilac Catering
Thanks to all of United Way's partners that have made the Hopeful sign possible: The Boulos Company, Kennebec Savings Bank, Central Maine Power, City of Augusta, Charlie Hewitt, Kevin Mattson, 341 Water Street LLC, Neokraft, Cianbro, Augusta Downtown Alliance, United Way of Eastern Maine, and the Augusta Police Department.
Getting to the Event
Please note that the event will take place on Water Street in downtown Augusta. This means that Water Street will be closed to all traffic from Green Street to Winthrop Street. Incoming and outgoing traffic should use either Winthrop Street or north Water Street to access downtown. We will be using the old railroad tracks and the parking lot adjacent to Riverfront BBQ for event parking. There is additional parking on Front Street next to the Kennebec River.
