SW started visiting the LINC Center in the summer of 2024, feeling hopeless and stuck. With the support of Peer Support Specialists—who shared similar life experiences—he felt safe enough to open up.
Having never had a case manager, SW was encouraged and supported in connecting with an agency for the first time. He gained access to vital resources he once thought were out of reach, including a doctor, therapist, and dentist. As he addressed his mental health and substance use challenges, he described feeling a weight lifted.
Nearly nine months later, SW diligently manages his appointments and hasn’t missed one. He recently shared his pride in maintaining sobriety and wellness care for the longest time in his life. Inspired by his journey, SW encouraged his father, PW, who proudly shares he is 75 years old, to visit LINC. Initially hesitant, PW now comes daily. Together, they express gratitude for a space where they can socialize, play games, enjoy meals, and access community support—all with smiles on their faces.
