Partner Program Spotlight: Waterville Community Dental Care
Check out this story from Waterville Community Dental Center, a partner program of United Way. Your donations support this program and many others across the county.
A 54-year-old blueberry farmer had not had any dental care for roughly 10 years. At that time, he had an upper bridge placed to fill in the gap of his four missing upper front teeth. He came to Waterville Community Dental Center because the bridge was loose and needed to be repaired, but many other problems were identified. He had decay and infection in several teeth and periodontal disease that put him at risk not only of losing further teeth but also compromising his overall health due to the underlying infection and chronic gum inflammation. With the support of the sliding fee program, restorative care was completed. His periodontal disease was also successfully treated, stabilizing his health and saving his teeth and his smile.
He wrote about his experience: “The concern that caused me to initially call Waterville Community Dental was the fact that my upper bridge was quite loose and I knew it would be coming out soon. I was actually surprised by the service I received. In this day we live in, it is rare to find such quality customer service and to have it be universal throughout the office. I have been back several times now for other issues and have been equally as pleased. I have benefited greatly from the sliding fee since, of course, dental work is a great expense. Thank you ever so much. I am truly grateful.”
