AUGUSTA COMMUNITY WARMING CENTER
United Way no longer directly operates the Warming Center.
All questions regarding the Warming Center and donations to the program should be directed to Bridging the Gap staff at 207-248-1782.
United Way of Kennebec Valley started the Augusta Community Warming Center in 2009 and managed its operation for eight seasons. In 2017, the Warming Center became a program of Bridging the Gap, a local community project. The money that you give to United Way helps support this effort, as Bridging the Gap is a partner program of United Way.
As of June 2018, Bridging the Gap operates out of Emmanuel Lutheran Episcopal Church at 209 Eastern Avenue in Augusta.
The Warming Center is partially funded by a gift from the Avangrid Foundation through United Way.
